"After looking at several Weight and Balance programs designed for commercial aviation we at Air Atlanta decided to go with the solution offered by Flyware which included 2 separate programs that were like tailor fitted to our needs. With outstations from Buenos Ares to Kuala Lumpur the programs offer a unique approach depending on the facilities available at each station. With the current system we are able to handle the weight and balance part of any of our aircraft from the simple Boeing 757 to the complex B747 Special Freighter in a fast and efficient manner."

Air Atlanta Icelandic was founded in 1986 by Captain Arngrimur Johannsson and his wife Thora Gudmundsdottir. The company leases wide-bodied aircraft on an ACMI (Aircraft, Crews, Maintenance, Insurance) basis to airlines needing extra capacity. The company's mission is to be the first choice for any carrier requiring such capacity while continuously modernising and upgrading the fleet and improving the service to the customer.

"Air Greenland, formerly Greenlandair, has been using the Powerloader system since 1996 on all our domestic flights. It is an incredibly good, simple and unique program. How to use the program can be taught to anyone in no time at all! Sometimes we ask ourselves, how we could live without the Powerloader before. In Air Greenland, we have nothing but praise for the Powerloader"

As airlines go, Air Greenland is rather unusual, being an active transport company which carries out tasks vital to the country's existence as a community, for there can be no other modern society as dependent upon aviation as the inhabitants of Greenland. Outside of the towns and settlements there are no roads, and although ships also play a vital part in the transportation network, their effectiveness is somewhat reduced by the frozen coastal seas which affect much of the country in the winter months. For this reason Air Greenland must be the only airline in the world whose main competition is the dog sled.

"After being a development partner of the original Powerloader weight and balance system and taking part in developing the new eLoadsheet.net, Icelandair feels that this system is a major step forward in weight and balance calculation. The major benefit of this system is its easy of use and the fact that it has all the newest solutions for the production of a loadsheet. Icelandair uses eLoadsheet.net in all its network mainly as a backup system for our DCS system, but also as our primary system for all charter and cargo flights world wide. Icelandair has been a developement partner of the system from the beginning and we find that it gets better and better with every update. The major difference between Flyware and other companies in the weight and balance business is that Flyware has been willing to tailor the system to suit our needs, rather having us modify our procedures to suit the system. In our view the eLoadsheet.net Weight and Balance system seems to be developing into the ultimate weight and balance system which is able to compete at the highest level."

Icelandair's sphere of activities lies not only in aviation, but also in the provision of one-stop travel services for visitors to Iceland. As the country's national carrier, Icelandair has, throughout its history, played a leading role in the development of tourism in Iceland. Today, travel has now risen to become Iceland's fastest-growing industry, and one of its principal sources of foreign currency earnings.
